Take action for change

Telling your story or campaigning for change can help some people with their recovery. Survivors can often blame themselves for sexual violence, but it is the perpetrator who is at fault and our society needs to change to prevent it from happening.

SURVIVOR ADVOCACY

YourSay

In 2025, SASVic launched YourSay, a platform where we invited victim survivors and the general community to tell us what the Victorian Government should be doing differently on sexual violence.

These ideas have now been submitted to a panel of victim survivors, where one idea will be chosen for SASVic to champion in the lead up to the 2026 Victorian state election in November.

Victorian advocacy groups

There are survivor advocacy groups that you can be a part of in Victoria to inform work that is happening in organisations and government.

CAMPAIGNS

Another way to advocate for change is through campaigns for change.

SASVic often runs campaigns, drawing on the expertise of specialist sexual assault services, the experiences of the people they support, as well as research and outcomes from inquiries. You can get involved by visiting the Ending Sexual Violence Hub.
