Ending Sexual Violence Hub
SYPTUAC PILOT PROJECTS
Lubly Consent was one of the 13 projects created as part of the Supporting Young People to Understand Affirmative Consent (SYPTUAC) Program. The SYPTUAC program aimed to empower and educate young people and their key influencers to strengthen their understanding of affirmative consent and healthy relationships.
Lubly Consent
The Lubly Consent project was designed by the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) and Victorian Aboriginal Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) to provide information about affirmative consent to Aboriginal young people aged 14-18 years, as well as youth and family practitioners that work with our young mob.
It’s important to yarn up about sexual consent so our mob stays safe and respectful in our relationships, no matter what gender identity, sexuality, or disability. That means talking to Mums, Dads, Aunties, Uncles, and even Nan and Pop. Everyone needs to be on board when it comes to Lubly consent.
As part of this project, we developed some deadly videos and written resources all about Victoria’s affirmative consent laws.
Women's Health East
A set of resources about affirmative consent, co-designed and co-created with a group of Disabled young people. The written and video resources explain the affirmative consent legislation in plain English, share reflections about sex, relationships and accessibility, and share advice for workers on how to have supportive, meaningful conversations with Disabled young people.
Women's Health in the North
A youth-led affirmative consent education and community engagement pilot project. Taking ACtion focuses on affirmative consent, respectful relationships and sexual violence prevention using a rights-based and sex-positive approach.
Youth Affairs Council Australia (YACVic)
A workshop which aims to build the capacity of young people to understanding the new Affirmative Consent legislation. The workshop can be adapted to be age appropriate, culturally safe and relevant to the young people that it’s being delivered to.
