SYPTUAC PILOT PROJECTS

BeSure was one of the 13 projects created as part of the Supporting Young People to Understand Affirmative Consent (SYPTUAC) Program. The SYPTUAC program aimed to empower and educate young people and their key influencers to strengthen their understanding of affirmative consent and healthy relationships.

BeSure

The BeSure program delivered engaging, community-based workshops designed to help young people, carers, and key workers understand Victoria’s affirmative consent reforms. Focused on building respectful relationships, the workshop explored consent, boundaries, communication and the legal implications of the new legislation.

Tailored for diverse communities, BeSure workshops were delivered in TAFEs, youth programs, community organisations, and adult migrant education settings. The program used accessible, inclusive resources to ensure young people from all backgrounds, particularly those with barriers to legal or health information, can understand and engage with their rights and responsibilities.

BeSure also supports professional development for staff working with young people, equipping them with tools to foster safe, informed conversations about consent in culturally safe ways.
